Our History
Founder, Robert B. Demerest
Brian Demerest grew up in Southern California, just miles from where our warehouse stands today. After high school, he volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he fought with the 101st Airborne Division. He returned home a highly decorated sergeant and immediately began building a career in the HVAC and refrigeration industry. Starting as a truck and delivery driver, Brian worked his way into sales with Allied Refrigeration and later became the West Coast Sales Representative for TurboTorch—a role he continues to hold today.
In 1988, Brian began selling high-pressure and recovery cylinders out of the trunk of his car in his spare time, laying the foundation for what would become D&D Western Cylinder Sales. At the time, he also owned a manufacturers’ representative company, which he sold to his employees in 2010, choosing to focus exclusively on the cylinder business. Today, our mission is to carry on Brian’s legacy by upholding the customer-first values, integrity, and work ethic that have defined his entire career.
